Best Tech Bargain in Asia?
One of the questions we often get asked is: What is worth buying in Asia when it comes to technology? While your level of bravery may vary sharply from ours, as well as your comfort with being stuck with a malfunctioning product, we are generally fairly risk averse so our suggestions will differ from those who aren't.
The best tech bargain that we have found is buying plug changers, especially ones that fit Apple power adapters. These tiny pieces of plastic Apple sells for $39 for a set of 6 and in many places in Asia, like Sim Lim in Singapore, you can find or negotiate these for less than $5 each. We love buying them individually since we spend more time in certain countries than others and it's so nice to be able to have a spare or replace the one missing from the set that you need. The nice thing about buying these plugs is that there is no power involved so there are no worries about some knockoff piece destroying your precious tech. Of course we have found other bargains in the form of dSLR lenses, but the thing we keep coming back time after time and buying are these little plugs.
